  Mountaineer Pest Services never disclosed to me that they were having me sign a one year contractual agreement. The representative of their company gave me the price for the individual services and had me sign the receipt without ever verbally telling me that it was a contract or pointing out on the paper that I was signing some sort of contractual agreement. Their pest control services are of poor quality as well. We have had two applications thus far, one being recent, and the bugs are no better than they were when their company began service. I also paid for tick and flea control for the entire yard and my dog has had problems with both since the most recent treatment. I requested to cancel the service without penalty and informed the company we were a military family. The director/owner of the company refused the cancellation without penalty, told me that I could make a complaint if I wanted to and that "a contract was a contract." He also told me that my account was being sent to collections as of that same day, however I have never been late on any payment and my account was not delinquent to warrant his threat of collections or his threat to damage my credit. The company is threatening to damage my credit without justification and they have been deceitful in their business practices in having a customer sign a document without disclosing the contents of it. After attempting to cancel the contract, once in June 2017 and once in August 2017, two different employees gave different answers on where the contents of their so-called contract are located on the receipt they presented. One employee who is no longer employed by the company told me that the contract was on the back of the receipt and the other employee told me that it was on the bottom. After further inspection of the receipt, I see that the contract they had me sign was actually on the back which further supports my complaint of their underhanded business practices. The companies deceitful behaviors in order to obtain customers are highly unprofessional and fraudulent. I have reviewed the other customer complaints with the Better Business Bureau and each of these customers had problems with the rude behavior of the owner, poor customer service from other employees, as well as threats by the owner to send the customer accounts to collections. My situation has been no different than the others. It appears to be an ongoing pattern of behavior with this company deceiving their customers and using collections as a means to scam the customer for more money without having to actually complete any services. All consumers contemplating on doing business with Mountaineer Pest Services should think twice before doing business with them. Military and civilian consumers do not deserve to be treated in this manner. We work hard for our money as the consumer and when the consumer is treated poorly by a business such as Mountaineer or the customer receives subpar services, we have the right to say that such services did not meet our customer expectations without threats from the business to harm the customer. I would not recommend this business to any military or civilian consumers. Mountaineer should consider their business practices and how they treat their customers, because they would not be a company without their customers. Each and every customer should count if they want to remain in business.
